How much does it cost?

Circa £750 for most items like police clearance, TB tests (candidate's own admin)

Circa £500 for the cost of your flights

Here is a breakdown of the admin and application fees:

Work Permit Admin - £250
Visa Fee + Visa Appointment - From £250 - £500 (depending on what additional OPTIONAL services you want to book)
Tuberculosis Testing Fee - £175 (Certain Nationals Only)

How long does the application process take

Work Permit Application

Approval times are currently averaging 6 weeks

Visa Application

IF all documents are submitted - from the date you attend an appointment to provide your biometrics the process takes 3 weeks.
Priority Service Available (5 days) additional ±£500

Terms of employment

All employment in Jersey is governed by Work Permit Policies and Housing Regulations regardless of nationality.
Seasonal work permits - Issued for 6 or 9 months with a 3 month break (leave the island) This is renewable each year on the same conditions 9 months on and 3 off
Medium Term permits - issued for 3 + years and for middle management positions
Long Term permits - issued for 5 + years and for senior management positions
All work permits are linked to your employer and your visa is only valid for the permit which it was issued for.
Additional employs can be taken up in the same industry with the written permission from your employer.
All employees must live in staff accommodations provided by the employer.
Accommodations provided are strictly regulated by local authorities to ensure employees well being and health and safety are protected.
Wages are paid monthly into a UK bank account after tax and social services deductions
